This was a jam-packed meeting. In the space of 2 hours...

• We welcomed half-a-dozen people to the research committee to help Loraine with research.
• Tricia heard about the insulation and additional dormer for extra space upstairs in the home.
• Barbara announced that the house seems to be paying for itself at this point.
• Loraine told how the documentation is improving; our professional England researcher is focusing on certain towns/regions/whatever they're called; and Ken Moody has sent photocopies of Cyrus/Benjamin/Judson's cousin. Someone else reported his experience of finding a little girl previously overlooked, which was incredibly exciting for him. Loraine told about her father's dream, so you'll have to ask her about it sometime.
• Kathy Allred talked about some of the new work going on at the Church's Family History Library, where she works on the British floor. She had some interesting stories and info; the new maps.familysearch.org website is one example of new work, along with the new Family Search program that we'll all have very soon.
• Trent reviewed our online genealogy tree, blog, Facebook page, and history search.

There were quite a few interesting thoughts that came up during this meeting. One idea that stood out to me was the idea that we are all somebody's ancestor, so hopefully we're doing things that will be interesting and helpful for our descendants; another thought is that there are many different kinds of work that we can be doing, so there's probably some activity that would be attractive to everyone... you just have to ask around.

The good conversations tell me that there is lots of interesting work happening. Here's to the next six months!
